In 2021, Useful Human Enterprises was established by our founder, Travis Stone, in the Netherlands to leverage his work experience to focus on things that matter. Originally from Texas, he worked across North America and Europe, on-shore and off-shore, with customers across multiple industry sectors including water & wastewater, energy, chemical, food & beverage, pulp & paper, oil & gas, and others. Through this, he developed an understanding of the everyday things that we all rely on -and which most humans take for granted. What matters? That the light turns on when you press the switch. That clean water comes out of the tap in your kitchen. That the manufacturers of products we use, like phones and bicycles, are supplied with the required materials. Most of all — That the humans working to ensure all these things happen are kept safe from harm.

We have partnered with clients in critical infrastructure that continued operating during lockdowns, providing power to keep the lights on in homes and hospitals. We have worked with candy bakers, beer brewers, and vodka distillers to fill the shelves during the good times.

We offer services covering safety instrumented systems (SIS), distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), instrumentation, valve controls, documentation, planning, and more.

We work with a commitment to continuous improvement and personal responsibility. To that end, we aim to one day grow our industrial experience to include work on human habitats for inhospitable environments, such as the Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) used for human space travel.
